M3 Consulting, Inc offers a wide variety of consulting services in the Enterprise application Integration space. Our services include strategic consulting, architectural design, and technical implementation. We provide services with most EAI tools.
We offer services with EAI strategy definition, tool/vendor selection as well as implementation. We have developed a robust EAI strategy development and fulfillment methodology that we offer to our customers. A successful EAI strategy begins with identifying the Integration need and is completed with rollout of integration flows or interfaces. The general guidelines for developing and implementing successful EAI strategy can be outlined below:
Identify the Integration Need
The first probably the most important step of an EAI strategy is identifying the need: We must define what we need to integrate and why (business case). Another important consideration is to determine if the business can function without the proposed integration?
Define EAI Team
The next step is to define the key players for the integration effort: Typically the EAI team will be a cross-functional team of users, formed by selecting users from various applications. We recommend forming a dedicated Middleware team/ Center Of Excellence to handle EAI projects throughout the enterprise.
Requirements Definition/Analysis
Requirements can be defined for the integrating the entire enterprise or can be defined at a project level. These requirements shall be very high-level requirements leading to development of Business case(s). An example of requirements can be to “Use Siebel as source of record and bring the legacy ERP application in sync with Customer, PO, and Invoice data.” A detailed analysis of integration requirements shall result in creating the business case for Integration and in the identification of the ROI Model. An example ROI Model can be “Using EAI to automate PO sync between CRM and ERP applications, we can reduce processing time from 3 days to 4 hours, thereby recovering 1500 man hours per month – cost savings of $200K per annum.”
